I'm Sure You Saw This Coming......Hillary Goes Negative, The State of the Black Union 08' & More-Next Afronerd Radio

Well we have a quite a bit to discuss this Thursday for the next Afronerd Radio broadcast as Team Billary appears to be imploding. If you haven't heard the latest news, the above photo has been circulating the net for the last few days allegedly (but denied) by the Clinton camp to continue to paint Obama as being a secretive Muslim operative or at the very least maintaining Islamic underpinnings. First, this reeks of desperation on the part of the Clintons and I'm of the opinion that this may backfire as an ever perceptive public may see through this a ruse further proving Obama's message that these tactics bespeak of politics old.

As I have stated on numerous occasions, if Obama does get the Democratic nomination, in order for him to best McCain he must adopt a centrist perspective. Trends indicate that our citizens are just not going to be open to implicitly leftist politics. But let me refrain from a full on analysis of this situation at this juncture-let's flesh this out on Thursday's Afronerd Radio broadcast. I also want to delve into Tavis' annual collard greens and chitlins gathering aka The State of The Black Union which was televised courtesy of CSPAN this past Saturday. Suffice it to say, it was exactly what I expected-and again, I'll address this more definitively during the program. And on a lighter note, we will also try to fit in a review of Dr. Henry "Skip" Louis Gates recent PBS special entitled African-American Lives 2 and what this ground breaking series means to Black American and African genealogical scholarship. So join us Thursday at 9pm eastern and let's mix it up-call us at 646-915-9620 or IM/email-afronerdradio@yahoo. In the interim, what do you guys think about this new strategy of Senator Clinton? And what about Obama's Muslim ties-real or imagined?

Afronerd Radio's Week in Review

And here is a clip of a pretty funny Dick Gregory during the Black Union (again channeling Halle Berry-"make me feeeeel good"):

And now words of wisdom from my political cuzin, former Lt. Governor Michael Steele. He is essentially mirroring what this blog has been espousing since its inception-people of color need a variety of thoughts and ideas in order to survive. And we should be allowed to break free of this monolith. Check it out:
