A very special hat tip and shout out to Mike from Icedmedia.com for hipping me to the 19th annual Real Men Cook Father's Day event held this past Sunday in the heart of Harlem. I would be remiss in not mentioning these type of events because it does demonstrate that there are individuals who are trying to develop initiatives to bring back the institution of fatherhood in sorely deficient inner city communities. You might recognize the young thespian in the picture above-kudos to Mel Jackson (of Soul Food, DAG and the soon to be released Black Man's Guide to Understanding the Black Woman) for participating in this event.
