2 For The Price of 1-Comic Shoppe Sun @5pm & Afronerd Radio Airs @6pm-DC X Marvel Fans; When Characters Grow Up; Geraldo's Hoodie Remarks+More!

Well folks, we're back again as the month comes to a close and summer (based on the unseasonal balmy weather) appears to be reaching the east coast a month or two early. Stop by this Sunday for our "2 for 1" special broadcast showcasing The Comic Shoppe with Daryll B, Captain Kirk and yours truly at 5pm (airing an hour earlier due to a scheduling conflict) and for the coup de grace, listen to Afronerd featuring Captain Kirk the following hour. The issues at hand for the Shoppe crew entail the following: for our popular Versus segment, we will discuss the DC vs Marvel...fans. Are there legitimate beefs and/or differences? Can one be equally faithful to both houses?; the team discusses the maturing story lines of our favorite characters (i.e. new, important careers; marriages, children, different powers, depowered instances, deaths, etc); director Michael Bay causes an internet geek "freak out" after speculation that his upcoming TNMT film, will depict the characters as coming from space and not a toxic/radioactive sewage; Is The Hunger Games the new Twilight? or Harry Potter? or something entirely different? And lastly, our thoughts on celebrity inspired and/or written comics (i.e. Joshua Jackson's Fringe comics; Rashida Jones' Frenemy of the State, etc). Call us live at 646-915-9620.

And for "round two," continue listening to Afronerd featuring Captain Kirk which airs right after, The Shoppe at 6pm eastern standard time. Special guest and friend of the show, Martin Adams stops by to discuss the recent trades of Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow in the world of gridiron sports; yet even more on the Trayvon Martin tragedy, including a controversial diatribe (video, above) by famed TV journalist, Geraldo Rivera in which he affirms that the urban gear that some Black and Brown youth wear may lead to their untimely deaths; picking from last week's expose on comedienne, Wanda Sykes unique roots and the new world of internet advertising. AGAIN....call in live or you can reach us via the chatroom (@afronerdradio.com)or email/instant message at afronerdradio@yahoo.com.
